Chabidou Sampain, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate heart to caring for older adults. Her healthcare journey began over 13 years ago, supporting seniors in their homes, then continuing in rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, hospitals, and community settings.
This firsthand experience ignited a passion in Dr. Sampain to become an advocate for older adults and their caregivers. Witnessing the challenges they face, especially those related to mental health, inspired her to specialize in geriatric care. As the saying goes, 'Treat others how you would want to be treated.' For Dr. Sampain, this is more than just a saying; it's a creed she lives by. She wants her patients and their families to always know, "I've got your back."
The Stony Brook Center of Excellence for Alzheimer's Disease resonated deeply with Dr. Sampain's experience and desire to provide holistic care. Here, she combines her clinical skills honed over 13 years with a deep understanding of the emotional and mental health needs of people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Dr. Sampain earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) from UMass Global University. Her foundation began with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) degree from Molloy University. Dr. Sampain's dedication to continuous learning ensures she stays at the forefront of advancements to improve patient care outcomes.
